The Vespertine

The Vespertine by Saundra Mitchell. This is another book I reviewed for NetGalley. To be honest I thought it was a little slow at times, but maybe that was because I read it right before bed when my eyes were drooping... Towards the end of the book, the story picked up its pace and really it kept surprising me. I really didn't expect the outcome. Anyway... the review.

**** Four Stars
Amelia can see into the future. Just flashes, but enough to tell what is going to happen. It isn't good things either. She sees horrors that she really wishes she wouldn't. Deaths, injuries, and heartbreaks. Amelia warns everyone of their ominous futures, however, she can not stop the tragedies from happening.
Amelia lives in 1889. She spends her time not really caring what everyone else thinks. Amelia isn't the dainty female type. She is adventurous and daring. She also finds courage when she needs it. Everyone asks her what will happen to them in the future, but a lot of times, Amelia can't bare to tell them.
When one man gets mad at Amelia for not stopping the injury of his loved one, it's clear that Amelia's "gift" is not wanted anymore. When that same man tries to kill her but harms her friend instead, Amelia knows she must make a choice. She can stay and put everyone in danger, or she can leave. When one last tragedy strikes, Amelia makes up her mind. *Phae Phae*

Vanish Cover

Firelight is one of my favorite books! The author, Sophie Jordan, is coming out with a sequel on September 6th!!! I'm so excited. The beautiful cover and Goodreads summary are posted below.
To save the life of the boy she loves, Jacinda did the unthinkable: She betrayed the most closely-guarded secret of her kind. Now she must return to the protection of her pride knowing she might never see Will again—and worse, that because his mind has been shaded, Will’s memories of that fateful night and why she had to flee are gone.

Back home, Jacinda is greeted with hostility and must work to prove her loyalty for both her sake and her family’s. Among the few who will even talk to her are Cassian, the pride’s heir apparent who has always wanted her, and her sister, Tamra, who has been forever changed by a twist of fate. Jacinda knows that she should forget Will and move on—that if he managed to remember and keep his promise to find her, it would only endanger them both. Yet she clings to the hope that someday they will be together again. When the chance arrives to follow her heart, will she risk everything for love? *Phae Phae*

Follow Friday (10)

Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a wonderful week. There has been some really nice weather where I am, and I got to be outside a lot. Being outside makes me happier than sitting inside while reading or writing a review!

Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee's View!!!
Today's Question: How did you come up with your blog name?
That's easy. My friend had made a blog and I thought that it was really cool! When I started making mine, I didn't know what to name it or even what I was going to put on it. I chose Phaedra's Multipurpose blog so that I could use it for whatever I wanted, and not put it into a category. *Phae Phae*

Uncommon Criminals

It's Thursday! I actually got my post out on time!!! Yeah! Anyway, here is the gorgeous cover, and below is the Goodreads summary.

Katarina Bishop has worn a lot of labels in her short life. Friend. Niece. Daughter. Thief. But for the last two months she’s simply been known as the girl who ran the crew that robbed the greatest museum in the world. That’s why Kat isn’t surprised when she’s asked to steal the infamous Cleopatra Emerald so it can be returned to its rightful owners.

There are only three problems. First, the gem hasn’t been seen in public in thirty years. Second, since the fall of the Egyptian empire and the suicide of Cleopatra, no one who holds the emerald keeps it for long, and in Kat’s world, history almost always repeats itself. But it’s the third problem that makes Kat’s crew the most nervous and that is simply… the emerald is cursed.

Kat might be in way over her head, but she’s not going down without a fight. After all she has her best friend—the gorgeous Hale—and the rest of her crew with her as they chase the Cleopatra around the globe, dodging curses, realizing that the same tricks and cons her family has used for centuries are useless this time.

Which means, this time, Katarina Bishop is making up her own rules. *Phae Phae*

Heist Society

Hey guys! I'm having a hard time remembering to get on my blog and write a post. I'm on break right now, and all the days just sort of melt together. I forgot to post yesterday, so I'm posting today! Laziness... the story of my life. Haha.
I read Heist Society by Ally Carter for the second time! I loved it even more this time. As many of you know, Ally Carter has wrote a sequel to this book! I can't wait to read it. It is called Uncommon Criminals, and it is coming out in June. ( I am posting the picture and Goodreads summary Thursday.)
***** Five Stars!

Kat had decided to quit the family business and go to boarding school. She was tired of being a thief and wanted a normal teenage life. Kat learned that it is not that easy to walk away from your family.
When Kat's family gets her expelled from school, she realizes that she is not going to be able to escape the life of a thief no matter what she does. It turns out that Kat's family has a reason for ruining her "normal" teenage life. Her father is in trouble. He's being blamed for stealing five priceless paintings, and the owner of the paintings wants them back. The owner will do anything it takes to get them back. Kat knows that her father is in trouble, so she decides to find the paintings, steal them back, and keep her father safe.
Kat knows she can't take on this mission alone, so she gets some help from her friends. Six kids, five paintings, and a high-tech museum. Kat knows she has one chance to help her father. Can she get him out of trouble and return the paintings??? *Phae Phae*

Hey guys. How's your Friday going? Mine has been pretty good so far. Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee.

Today's Question: What embarrassing thing have you done on cold medicine? Nothing. I don't think I have ever done anything because of cold medicine... I hate having a cold though. When I get a cold, I give it to all of my friends and  have it myself for weeks! *Phae Phae*

Exciting Day!

Hey! I actually have a post out today!!! I'm hopefully getting better at this posting thing. First things first... HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUSTIN BIEBER! Sorry, I just had to say that, anyway, Clarity by Kim Harrington came out today, and I can't wait to read it!!! I have been waiting forever. (Or at least it seems like forever.) I think the cover is pretty sweet! It looks mysterious... It's a little creepy how she is looking right into the camera and below it says "she can see your secrets".  Below the picture is the summary of the book from goodreads.

When you can see things others can't, where do you look for the truth?
This paranormal murder mystery will have teens reading on the edge of their seats.
Clarity "Clare" Fern sees things. Things no one else can see. Things like stolen kisses and long-buried secrets. All she has to do is touch a certain object, and the visions come to her. It's a gift.
And a curse.
When a teenage girl is found murdered, Clare's ex-boyfriend wants her to help solve the case--but Clare is still furious at the cheating jerk. Then Clare's brother--who has supernatural gifts of his own--becomes the prime suspect, and Clare can no longer look away. Teaming up with Gabriel, the smoldering son of the new detective, Clare must venture into the depths of fear, revenge, and lust in order to track the killer. But will her sight fail her just when she needs it most?

 Aaaaamazing! *Phae Phae*
